Our user dr_te_z has shared a cool way of monitoring db2 databases/instances running on  Windows environments using db2top utility. Thanks dr_te_z for sharing this wonderful tip:

My current client runs db2 on ms windows (that's their problem) but I want to monitor the databases with "db2top". So this is what I did.

IBM Software Support Toolbar

Did you know a something known as IBM Software Support Toolbar existed? Well, I didn't know until today.

Its a toolbar designed to make it easier for IBM customers to search for IBM support's knowledgebase, browse for product downloads, and to contact IBM support.

Many DBAs don't know about the db2top tool. It's a tool to monitor a db2 instance or a db2 DPF environment with ease and efficiency.

The db2top interface is similar to the topas tool much used in UNIX. In a DPF environment, it combines the db2 snapshot information from all partitions and offers a unified view, thereby making it easy to monitor such complex systems.
